They placed us in a double room which was quiet and warm. We had a reasonably clean bathroom. The location was lovely and amazing, adjacent to eat out, and mountain. Local fast food option Giraffe Stop was 10 minutes walk away...

Lovely place, I felt like home.
I had a large and amazing room with an electric kettle, a fireplace, and central heating. The hotel's location was stunning, near to the stony creek as well as a quick shop or eat out.

The hotel with reasonably spacious rooms, in a very quiet area, by the river. Stunning location, a few steps away from everywhere. A huge variety of food options at a moderate distance from the venue. The lounge bar onsite. Amazing stay, as always: D

The breakfast here is fantastic and the location is beautiful, right next to the stony creek, and there's a place just one mile away, Culver's, where you can grab a quick meal.

The location is perfect, with the stony creek and river nearby. the room is cosy and comfortable, with a lovely view of the mountain and the sound of the river flowing. the hosts are friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast provided is delicious. the bathroom and toilet are private and clean, adding to the overall comfort of the stay.
The accommodation being in the host's home was unexpected, but it turned out to be a pleasant experience.

the location was charming, surrounded by natural beauty and tranquility. Andre and Sonja, the hosts, were incredibly friendly and helpful. They even offered us a delicious breakfast for a small additional fee. We chose to stay for two nights as we wanted to do the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, and the retreat was conveniently located just a 40-minute drive from Whakapapa Village where we took the shuttle to start the hike. the retreat provided the perfect relaxing accommodation for our adventure. We also appreciated the comfortable bed, which we wished we could take home with us. Andre and Sonja made us feel like friends and their hospitality was second to none. We highly recommend Riversong Retreat for a memorable and peaceful stay. 😊.

Wow, let me tell you about the rooms at Riversong Retreat! They are cozy and inviting, with a warm and homely atmosphere. I felt like I was staying at a friend's place, with comfortable beds and a wardrobe to keep my things organized. It was just what I needed as a budget traveler, a place that felt familiar and welcoming.
Honestly, the only thing I liked less was that there wasn't a fancy dressing table or mirror in the room. But hey, that's just my opinion!

After a day of epic skiing at this rad place near Ohakune, we were stoked to stay at Riversong Retreat! This place has ski-to-door access which meant we were shredding the slopes in no time. The hosts were super chill and the location was perfect, right by the river. It was cozy and warm, with everything we needed. We had an epic time hanging out with our crew and having a blast!
The only thing that would have made it even more epic for us party-goers is if there was a sick outdoor bonfire pit. Imagine jamming out to tunes and roasting marshmallows under the starry night sky.

We loved the cozy farmhouse atmosphere with a fireplace, wooden furniture, and a relaxing bath. The view of Mount Ruapehu outside our window was absolutely breathtaking. Andre and Sonja, the hosts, were incredibly kind and hospitable, making us feel like part of their family. The breakfast had a great selection, and the location near the river was peaceful and restful. As a family with two small kids, we also appreciated the tables near the flowing stream, making it a perfect spot for a dinner with a view.
Felt great, no complaints.
